Check valve for brake booster (Defender 2007+)

Removing

1. Disconnect the brake vacuum hose from the brake booster check valve.

2. Carefully pry and remove the valve with a screwdriver by inserting the blade of the screwdriver between the valve and the grommet. Do not put too much pressure on the vacuum chamber.

3. Remove the rubber sealing sleeve. Be careful not to drop it and fall into the vacuum chamber.

4. Check the correct operation of the valve; it must not let air into the vacuum booster in the direction indicated by the arrow. Do not use compressed air.

Installation

1. Install the rubber grommet.

2. Lubricate the valve fins with Lucas Girling grease for ease of assembly, and slide the valve into place.

3. Connect the vacuum hose to the valve.

4. Road test the vehicle.
