General procedures
NOTE: The parking brake must be fully engaged at the third notch on the ratchet.
1. Raise one of the rear wheels off the ground and support it with an axle support.
2. Release the parking brake lever.
3. Tighten the brake adjuster (tightening torque 25 Nm), until the pads are fully pressed against the drum.
4. Loosen the adjuster 1.5 turns. Make sure the brake drum can rotate freely.
5.
CAUTION: The cable adjustment should ONLY be used for initial adjustment and to compensate for cable stretch. It should NOT be used to compensate for brake pad wear. The pad wear compensation MUST be adjusted on the brake drum.
Check the operation of the parking brake lever so that the latch moves freely on two notches of the ratchet before fully engaging on the third notch. Adjust the parking brake accordingly if the lever travel is outside the specified tolerance.
6. Remove axle support and wheel chock.
