Front seat back (Defender 2007+)

Removing

WARNING: Do not attempt to adjust or disassemble the front seat tilt mechanism; the front seat bracket must be replaced as an integral unit; Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the vehicle.

1. Remove the front seat cushion.

For more information, see chapter: Front seat cushion (501-10 Seat, Removal and installation).

2. Remove the front seat backrest bracket cover. Remove the front seat recline handle.



3. Remove the front seat back hinge clamp.



4. Disconnect the wiring harness from the front seat heating mat. Remove and discard two clamps.

NOTE: Discard nuts as no longer needed.

Remove the front seat back. Remove 2 nuts and bolts.

Installation

NOTE: New nuts must be used.

Install the front seat back. Tighten nuts and bolts to 23 Nm.

2. Attach the front seat heating mat wiring harness. Install new wire strands.

3. Establish a clip of the hinge of a back of a forward seat.

4. Install the front seat backrest bracket cover. Install the front seat recline handle.
