Luggage compartment door lock (Defender 2007+)

Removing

1. Remove the tailgate trim panel.

For more information, refer to chapter: Tailgate Trim Panel (501-05 Interior trim, Removal and installation).

2. Release the central door lock linkage. Remove screw.



3. Release the rear door latch. Loosen 4 nuts.



4. Remove the rear door retainer. Disconnect the rear door retainer from the linkage hinge.

NOTE: Do not further disassemble if element is removed for access only.

NOTE: Make sure the latch is in the locked position.

Release the lock cylinder using a suitable tool.



6. Insert the key and remove the lock cylinder.

Installation

1. Replace the elements in reverse order. Tighten (tightening torque 10 Nm).
