Interior rear door handle (Defender 2007+)

Removing

1. Remove the door trim panel.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Tailgate Trim Panel (501-05 Interior trim, Removal and installation).

2. Remove the plastic sheet in place to gain access to the door opening handle.

3. Remove the spring clip and disconnect the drive rod from the button.

4. Release the spring clip and disconnect the short drive rod of the lock button from the latch mechanism.

5. Disconnect the long drive link from the latch mechanism.



6. Turn out two screws of fastening of the door handle to the basic panel.

7. Release the drive rods from the plastic clips located in the base plate.

8. Remove the handle and rods from the door.

Installation

1. Install the plastic mounting clips on the linkage assembly and secure with two screws.

2. Connect drive links to latch mechanism and secure with clips.

3. Install the plastic tie rod clamps on the base plate.

4. Connect the drive rod to the lock button and secure with a clip.

5. Reseal the plastic sheet and install the door trim panel.
