Hood latch release handle (Defender 2007+)

Removing

1.

NOTE: Replace the hood release cable.

Open the hood.

2. Turn out 8 screws of fastening of a lattice.

3. Remove the grid.

4. Release a clamping bolt of fastening of a cable of opening of a cowl.

5. Disconnect the cable from the lock.

6. Release the cable from the clip on the underside of the hood support panel.

7. Pass the cable through the front panel and remove the grommet.

8. Release a cable from the clip attached to a wheel arch under a broad tank.

9. Loosen the clamping nut securing the hood release handle to the support bracket.

10. Remove the hood release handle from the support bracket.

11. Remove the cable through the baffle.

Installation

1. Pass the cable through the bulkhead and install the hood release handle to the support bracket. Tighten the clamp nut.

2. Pass a cable behind a broad tank and fix in a clip.

3. Pass the cable through the front panel.

4. Install grommet between cable and front panel.

5. Clip the cable into the clip on the underside of the hood support panel.

6. Connect the cable to the lock and tighten the clamp bolt.

7. Check up operation of a cable of unlocking and the lock of a cowl and if necessary adjust.

8. Install the grille and tighten the screws.

9. Close the hood.
