Tailgate outside handle (Defender 2007+)

Removing

1. Remove the door trim panel.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Tailgate Trim Panel (501-05 Interior trim, Removal and installation).

2. Loosen the plastic sheet in place to access the handle mechanism.

3. Disconnect the drive rod from the handle drive lever.

4. Turn out two screws and remove the handle and frames.

Installation

1. Install the handle on the door, making sure that both frame elements are in place: flat surfaces to the door - and secure with two screws.

2. Connect drive rod to handle drive arm and secure with spring clip.

3. Replace the plastic sheet.

4. Install the door trim panel.
