External front door handle (Defender 2007+)

Removing

1. Remove the door trim panel.

For more information, see chapter: Front door trim panel (501-05 Interior trim, Removal and installation).

2. Remove the door reinforcement panel and support the glass with a board.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Front door reinforcement panel (501-03 Lockable body elements, Removal and installation).

3. Disconnect the drive link from the handle mechanism.

4. Disconnect the linkage from the locking lever of the cylinder.



5. Remove the two screws and remove the handle assembly.

Installation

1. Install the handle on the door, making sure that both frame elements are in place: flat surfaces to the door - and secure with two screws.

2. Connect the rod to the drive lever of the handle and secure with a spring clip.

3. Connect the rod to the locking lever of the cylinder and secure with a spring clip.

4. Install the door reinforcement panel.
