Rear door lock actuator (Defender 2007+)

Removing

1. Remove the door trim panel.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Tailgate Trim Panel (501-05 Interior trim, Removal and installation).

2. Carefully remove the plastic sheet to expose the mechanism.

3. Release a clip, disconnect and remove draft of an electromagnet of the lock.

4. Release the clamp and disengage the inner handle bar from the latch mechanism.



5. Remove the 3 screws securing the base plate.

6. Loosen the rest of the bolts and nut, slide the support panel away from the door and store in that position for access.



7. Disconnect the solenoid electrical connector.

8. Turn out 2 screws of fastening of an electromagnet.



9. Remove the center pin from the crankshaft axle and release the axle from the base plate.


10. Disconnect the bent lever from draft of the button of the lock and remove from draft of an electromagnet of the lock.



11. Remove the door lock solenoid.

12. Remove the rod from the electromagnet.

Installation

1. Connect the rod to the electromagnet, install the electromagnet, install the crank arm and connect the lock button to the rod.

2. Attach the crank arm to the base plate and install the center pin.

3. Align the position of the electromagnet and screw in and tighten the screws.

4. Connect the electromagnet electrical connector.

5. Screw in the base plate bolts and tighten all bolts and nut to 10 Nm (7 lb-ft).

6. Connect the shaft of the inner handle to the latch and secure with the clip.

7. Install and secure the solenoid rod.

8. Install the plastic sheet.

9. Install the door trim panel.
